Teaching Assistant and Project Lead
Duties and Experiences
Instructed multiple lab sections, presented on various engineering topics, and tracked class engagement.
Facilitated Semester-Long Design Projects (SLDP), helped students to create fully functional engineering products that solve real-life problems.
Resolved technical problems at the Open Lab, a maker space where students can come in with their engineering problems.
Semester-Long Design Projects mentored:
Walkability Alarm: a small wearable device that reminds visually impaired people of obstacles and fast-approaching objects.
Laundry Folder: a folding board that can recognize different types of clothing (pants, t-shirts, and jackets) and fold them accordingly.
Guitar Tuner: a beginner-friendly tuning device that can tune any plucked string instrument to a desired pitch, including non-standard tuning systems.
Wall Roomba: a robot that cleans exterior window panes of high-rise buildings using detergents and wipers, equipped with powerful suction and a smart corner detection system.
Smart Piano: a piano attachment that allows people with visual disabilities to also enjoy a piano. It can execute a pre-programmed sequence of strokes to play simple tunes.
